If it was not for the courage of others to write their truth, I would not be living mine. I am deeply grateful. And let's be clear, one's truth is not always noble and crisp. More often than not it is messy and dark and full of tangles, but we need the whole story in order to claim our own.
I began my journey years ago with a book by Anne Hillman called The Dancing Animal Woman: A Celebration of Life. I moved on to Aphrodite's Daughter: Women's Sexual Stories and the Journey of the Soul by Jalaja Bonheim. These women's words gave me the courage to begin to speak my own truth.
To the right you will find links to pages containing poetry, essays and excerpts from books written by men and women who have chosen the craft of writing to offer their truth. Enjoy.
